Why I chose HTML5?
Hi there!
And welcome to my first entry on Arsil Games' blog, I'm José Silva, founder of Arsil Games.
I'm excited about sharing my opinion related to what's going on in the #indiedev
industry and what the Arsil Games' future looks like.
Arsil Games started back in 2014 as a one-person project, so ensuring the games could be available in as many platforms as possible without having to be an expert on each platform's frameworks and languages were a crucial requirement.
So, I chose Construct 2 (an HTML5-based 2D game editor) as the tool to develop the games. The main reasons are the following:
- Its ability of running projects in a web browser on a wide variety of devices and operating systems.
- Its facility to integrate JavaScript code in projects.
- It has bet on HTML5 as the future of cross-platform software since 2011!
Thanks to this we have taken our games to the following platforms:
- Google Play
- Amazon AppStore
- Microsoft Store
- Itch.io
- App Store (coming soon)
We look forward to sharing with you the process that took the games to those platforms on a coming soon blog entry.
